Best TTS Software 2022

Welcome back to my blog!

In this article, I will share some Text-To-Speech software that you can use based on your need.

There are many online tools that you can use to convert text to voice. For example:

1. Synthesis

Some text-to-voice converter applications usually use machine technology. Usually, this makes the sound quality sound monotonous or robotic. So, choose Synthesis if you want a text-to-voice converter application that uses a natural human voice.

Several testimonials from people who have used this software admit that the sound produced is as good as what they have gotten from voice actor services on Fiverr and similar sites.

2. Natural Reader

This application is downloadable for Windows, Mac, and has a wide variety of voices, male and female. Natural Reader offers a variety of different types and types of sounds. Just adjust it to the tone or style of your brand. Not only English, but there are also voices from other languages that can be added as add-ons, such as Japanese, German, Arabic, and many more.

3. Capti voice

With features that support learning, Capti Voice has been trusted by many educational institutions to develop students' spelling and reading skills with natural and customizable text-to-speech technology.

Capti Voice also supports access via a browser for convenience and can be synchronized with various devices so that admins can move freely from PC to PC. Users can also import documents in various ways, from the LMS platform, via the cloud, or even from photos containing text.

How To Make TED-ED Lesson With Your Own Video

Hello guys! Welcome back to my blog. 👋😍

This time, I will share tips on making a lesson in ted ed using your own video. Before that, thank you to the readers who have visited my blog. 😄 You guys are amazing! 👍

Let's move on to our topic today. I write this because it will be helpful for other teachers to improve their learning activity to keep students interested in the lesson.

How to make TED-ED Lessons With Your Own Video?

I will divide it into three parts. Make a VideoInput Audio, and Input Questions.

Make a Video

As I wrote before, we use our original video. You can make videos about topics that your students will study. You can use several supporting applications such as Canva, Inshot, VideoMaker, etc. You can also look for learning video references on YouTube. You are free to use your creative ideas!

Input Audio

After making a video, you can input audio into your original video to give assignment instructions. You can use your voice or use Text to speech apps. You can see my previous article, "Welcome to Audacity, A Place to Develop Creativity in Editing Audio" if you need insight into audio editing. If you are done making a video, upload it on YouTube. Remember to set your video as public so everyone can search.

Input Questions

We are on the last part now. In this part, you need to open TED.ED. After that, you create your own lesson by following these steps:

  1. Create your TED-Ed account. Go to ed.ted.com and click “register” in the right upper corner. We’ll ask you for a little of your information and then you will have a username and password to manage all your activity and lessons.
  2. Choose the video for your lesson. Copy paste the link of your video that you have created before.
  3. Create your Lesson. You’ll be able to add an introduction to the video as well as the Think (multiple choice and open ended questions), Dig Deeper (additional resources), Discuss sections (guided or open forums).
  4. Publish your lesson. After you publish your lesson, you'll receive a unique URL for your lesson page. Only you have access to this link, and it is not listed in site search on ed.ted.com or indexed by search engines. But anyone you share this link will be able to access it so you can share it with your class in whatever way works for you.
  5. Monitor progress. As students submit work on your lesson page, you'll be able to monitor their progress and view their answers. You can manage the lessons you've created, return to editing your drafts, or access student work at any time by visiting your lesson activity page.

Easy peasy lemon squeezy, right? 😃 If you have any questions, you can ask in the comment column below. Feel free to share this article if you are interested. Thank you for coming to my blog. See you in the following article!

Welcome to Audacity, A Place to Develop Creativity in Editing Audio

Audacity is a free online music maker program and a lesson in open-source software quality that can be downloaded, recorded, and edited sounds. It's a cross-platform audio editor that helps students record live audio through a microphone or mixer. The software is simple to navigate and easy to understand. Audacity can be downloaded on various platforms, including Windows, Mac OS, and other operating platforms.

There's also an open forum to discuss the software. This open-source software is easily downloadable, but it helps if you've already got some digital audio knowledge and are tech-savvy to operate and manipulate the recording device. Students can make their ringtones, remove vocals from songs, create podcasts, and open up exciting learning possibilities.

Audacity isn't just free audio-manipulating software; it's also a great way to teach a lesson about freedom. As the site says, it isn't just that it doesn't cost anything, but users are also free to help improve and manipulate the software itself. Teachers can talk to students about the difference between open-source and licensed software products that cost money.

Audacity may have some potential uses in certain classroom settings. This open-source software can be an excellent way for students to tinker with audio engineering tools and improve their tech skills. They can use the technology they download to manipulate existing audio and record new pieces or use their creativity to do something unexpected. And because this open-source software is constantly being improved, students can join in the collaborative process, suggesting modifications and providing feedback. Audacity requires technological knowledge, but experimentation and creativity have lots of potentials.

The site provides ample instruction, guidance, and resources to assist general users. However, if you're going to use it in the classroom, you'll need to scaffold students' use of the program. The site has an online manual with specialized tutorials (some in languages other than English), an Audacity wiki, and various articles that offer tips for using the software.

In sum. Although there are some complicated steps, like installing separate plug-ins for features such as exporting an MP3 file, this tool is generally fantastic for student creation. The flexibility provides them to be creative because Audacity can be accessed on any PC. Students can record and edit programs that can be used on blogs and sites. The ease of editing (trimming, cutting, etc.) files is fantastic, while the ability to get into more serious audio editing is there for those wanting it.

Kahoot! vs. Quizizz, Which Side Are You?

Every day there are new and exciting things, such as platforms for students to learn. This time I will review the attractiveness of the Kahoot! and Quizizz platforms! 😀

Kahoot is a platform where you can create engaging quizzes for student assessment, assign homework, issue challenges, create surveys and polls, or even play live quizzes. It is considered a super fun and addictive application with plenty of games to play to make learning easy and exciting.

Quizizz is also a student-paced formative assessment platform with plenty of academic games. Quizizz is user-friendly and accessible on any device. Teachers use Quizizz for group work, unit tests, exams, pre-test reviews, and impromptu tests. It is a fun and engaging platform that fosters self-reflection and student-led learning, allowing students to assess themselves. With Quizizz, students can challenge their peers, host live games, and even lead their study groups. Students can work at their own pace and the feedback is instant.

Both platforms allow users to create and take quizzes in a more fun and engaging way. But they also possess unique features that differentiate them from each other.

          Ease of Use

Kahoot is a highly interactive platform. Its gamification way of assessing knowledge is fun and exciting. Its interface is easy to use, and it allows both teachers and students to get immediate feedback and response. Once you log on, you are free to create your own kahoots or games or copy from other users and customize them to your needs.

Quizizz, on the other hand, is also easy to use, with tutorials to help access answers and processes effortlessly. The search bar helps you find topics, while live chat helps you clarify things. The layout is pretty straightforward too. Taking the quizzes is quite intuitive, and what’s more, you can access them from any device.

           Unique Feature Comparison

  • Kahoot has a versatile mobile app that allows you to create games on the fly. You can also host a Kahoot game from a mobile device and even add photos from your camera roll. As a student, you’ll be able to take part in Kahoot challenges against your peers and fellow students.
  • Kahoot keeps tabs on each student’s performance, including the scores for each question. When playing in ghost mode, the platform displays your former attempts as ghosts. This makes it easy to compare your previous attempts with the current ones to view your progress.
  • If you’ve ever battled naughty nicknames in the Kahoot game, you know that the generator will let you select from three nickname options.
  • Quizizz have the homework mode that allows you to assign your homework to be completed by the deadline through homework mode. This means you don’t have to complete your game in person.
  • Quizizz have Power-ups are given to students who’ve answered questions correctly. They include immunity (for giving a correct answer on the second attempt), power play (if you get 50% more points in 20 seconds), and x2 (double points for a single question).
  • As you create new questions in Quizizz, you can use the icons next to them. For example, the media button will let you upload an image or audio, while the math button will give you a keyboard with math symbols.

           Student Experiences

Both Kahoot and Quizizz use fun music and bright colors to make the learning atmosphere more energetic and game-like. When using Quizizz, you can see the questions and answers through your device. With Kahoot, your device will only display the symbol and color choices. To view the actual answers, you have to use the classroom screen. While this seems a bit limiting, it unites the lesson and encourages participants to look up. On a positive note, this drives lively classroom engagement.

From all the comparison above, which side are you? 😄😄

How To Use Pear Deck

Pear Deck is a Google Slides add-on designed to help teachers create engaging slideshow-style content for the classroom and remote learning. Since this is Google-integrated, it allows teachers to create or edit presentations right there from within their own Google account.

Create formative assessments easily using templates that are designed to work at the beginning, middle, or end of class. From custom questions to audio additions, Pear Deck offers lots of personalization for teachers. The idea is to combine slide presentations with interactive questions to help advance inquiry-based learning. This allows students to work independently both in the classroom as well as remotely. It is easily accessible from many different devices and is, amazingly, free to use.

How To Use Pear Deck with Google Slides?

1. Create the slides that you want to display to your students.

2. Then, use the sidebar menu to add interactive elements to each slide. You can do all of this with PowerPoint slides, too. The bonus with Pear Deck: You can turn any of those slides into interactive slides. While building, you can pick from four question types:

  • Draggable questions with agree/disagree or thumbs up/down.
  • Drawing questions with free space or a grid for students to draw in.
  • Free response questions with a short text, long text, or number capabilities.
  • Multiple choice questions with the response of yes/no, true/false, or A, B, C, D.

Pear Deck also has a slide library where you can choose pre-created activities such as:

  • for the beginning of a lesson (check prior knowledge, ask what students are curious about)
  • during the lesson (summarize, assess learning, gauge understanding)
  • at the end of the lesson (retell what they learned, share feelings)

3. Last, let’s get students connected to it so they can interact!
